Suzy Chase: I'm wondering. Are you finding it challenging to pinpoint your unique interior design taste, or are you seeking clarity and inspiration to help you uncover your personal decorating style? Well, I have your answer. After interviewing top interior designers, architects, and decorating tastemakers on the only design book podcast, Decorating by the Book, I realized something BIG. People struggle to identify their own decorating style, either not knowing what their style truly is, or thinking they have to splurge on a fancy decorator. I believe that our interior design style lives within us and we just need to discover it. And then I asked myself, is this something I could create in conjunction with the podcast that would give people the prompts and space for decorating discovery? That's when Decorating by the Book: The Journal was born. It's a place where you can jot down notes, sketch, list your favorite shops, antique stores, design books I had on the podcast, or tips you've heard on the podcast.
In Decorating by the Book: The Journal, you'll find prompts at the beginning, lined pages for ideas, brainstorming and goals, blank pages for doodles, collaging, and vision boarding with let's say your paint samples you've picked up. Magazine tear-outs, fabric swatches you've collected, and on and on. And then graph pages to sketch out a room or even a piece of furniture or whatever inspires you.
